Win Movie Tickets to a Special Advance Screening of Dinner for Schmucks

image

How would you like to go to a special advance screening of Dinner for Schmucks starting Steve Carell and Paul Rudd? I have 25 sets of movie tickets to give away for the showing which will be held on Tuesday, July 27th at 7pm. The screening will be at the Rave Theater Franklin Park.

This looks like a really funny movie! I am super excited to see the movie.  You can check out the trailer HERE.

I will be at the screening and would love to meet up with my fellow readers!! Perhaps a pre-movie drink???

For a chance to win the movie tickets, tell me a story about your worst work dinner. I can’t wait to read your entries. Just leave a comment below.

This sounds like fun! Steve Carell is hilarious so it'll probably be a great movie. Unfortunatly, I don't have a work/dinner story. I've been a SAHM for 8 years and my work consist of making jewelry, reading blogs, cutting coupons, and shopping. I'll take that over a bad work dinner anytime!

I don't if my "worst work dinner" story will qualify but here goes. I have been a server at Don Pablos for almost 4 years. Well back when I was still new at it I was carrying a tray of drinks to a table and I didn't have it balanced right and one of the drinks fell off (I think it was a coke) and landed on a lady as well as getting into her purse! To say that I was mortified would be an understatement! I felt so horrible and profusely apologized over and over again! Thankfully all of the people at that table were super nice and kept reassuring me that it was fine (they even tipped me really well too which was an unexpected bonus!!). As I turned to leave, the table next to the one where I had spilled the drink called me over and said, "We've always wanted to see a drink spilled on somebody at a restaurant so thank you!!"

As a SAHM, work dinners are family dinners. One night sticks out in my mind. My oldest is always willing to taste new food and is usually a really good eater, but at about age 3, he learned how he could make himself sick (wonderful talent) when he didn't like something or didn't want to eat anymore. So, he proceeded to throw up all over himself and the chair right at the table. I ended up having to take everything outside and hose it off. Gross!!

Mine is similar to Melissa's! I am also a SAHM so I don't have a "work dinner" story other than one about my most important clients;) I am a mother to 4 so going out to eat can get pretty expensive. We would always go to a local mexican restaurant that had a "taco night". Well this particular night we were just getting done eating when my son started complaining that his body ached. I just thought he was whining...sure enough seconds later her start projectile vomiting EVERYWHERE!!! I felt horrible. All the tables surrounding us were full and I just could not imagine trying to eat while watching a little boy vomit Exorcist style! It was so embarassing. I'm so glad he is a bit older now so he knows what a achy belly means!

Mine was consisted of a nice birthday dinner at cousinos on the east side - where a boy from the next table got out of his seat and decided to VOMIT right in front of us. It was almost like he moved away from his table to "hide" while doing it...
so much for a nice dinner :O)

Like others, I've been a stay-at-home mom for the last 6 years. And I am thankful I don't have any table vomit stories either! :) One thing that comes to mind---I tried a new recipe for beef roast. It looked delicious, but it was so incredibly tough that you could not even sink your teeth into it. We ordered a pizza! My husband and I still laugh about it.

I am not quite sure how this could ever happen at any restaurant, but it did...
I went for business a few years back in Marion at Red Lobster (before I was a SAHM, and I ordered a chicken dish, because I was pregnant so I could not have fish, anyways when I got the dish and cut the chicken it was completely raw inside!! How disgusting is that-I ordered chicken not sushi :)

When I was a college student I was to give a thank you speech at an organization dinner due to winning a scholarship. I was very sick with a cold or sinus infection and was very nervous, not used to speaking in public. I got up before dinner to give my speech and sat down right in the middle of it because I knew I was about to pass out. In hindsight, I wish I would have just let myself pass out, because I don't think anyone believed me. : ) CS

After an all day meeting my coworkers and I were promised a nice dinner--but before we could eat, my boss got up to say a few words, and rambled on and on with no notes and no real purpose--for over a half hour! Everyone was starving waiting for him to finish!

I saw a preview for this last time I was at the theatre and it looks hilarious!!!

The worse dinner for work? Well, it involved too much alcohol, too much karaoke and not enough self-control...enough said!

I also am a sahm. Our first experience eating out after baby was born was a disaster. We had a rude waiter. I ordered a well done hamburger which came out practically mooing. The waiter did not replace it so I just ate the fries. And then he reprimanded me for using a coupon that I had got from their restaurant to the point where he made me cry and I hid in the bathroom for the next half hour. He never apologized and then he proceeded to tell me I did'nt have much money left on my gist card so I needed to be sure and leave him a cash tip!

Hi Melanie, last year at an end of the summer lobster bake at a coworkers house, my husband totally embarrassed me! You know the green stuff in lobsters that nobody eats? Well my husband eats it. Not only did he eat his and mine! But announced to the whole group he would like everyone else's. It was disgusting and I was embarrassed. This was the first time he met most everyone. Yuck!
Thx!

This movie looks sooo funny. Once, back before my SAHM days, my boss had me go to Max and Erma's to save a table for her and some boards members because she was afraid there would be a lunch rush and they would have to wait for a table. The board members arrived before she did, and I had to say - nope! I'm not here for lunch... just saving a table for you. Because that's how much my boss values me! erinaaron616 at bex dot net
